Student leaders from higher institutions across Osun State have thrown their weight behind Governor Ademola Adeleke’s re-election bid, declaring that his administration has outperformed the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite being in office for less than three years.
The endorsement came during a packed gathering at the Banquet Hall of the Government House, Osogbo, where representatives of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) and the National Association of Osun Students (NAOS) appraised Adeleke’s leadership.
Speaking at the event on Saturday, Chairman of NANS Joint Campus Council (Osun Axis), Comrade Ayobami Abel, praised the governor’s “passionate dedication” to state development, insisting that his achievements were visible across sectors.
“As a student body, we are not here for praise singing. We are only here to acknowledge your good work as a governor. The people of Osun are feeling the very positive impacts of your administration,” Abel said.
He added: “Even the blind can see the difference. Your administration has performed far better than the 12 years of the previous APC government. That fact is self-evident across Osun today.”
The student leaders applauded improvements in infrastructure, welfare policies, and democratic engagement under Adeleke, stressing that his government had delivered tangible dividends within a short time.
A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, on Sunday, described the endorsement as a reflection of the administration’s popularity among young people and a validation of Adeleke’s reform agenda.
Governor Adeleke, who took office in November 2022, is expected to seek a second term in 2026.
