A governorship aspirant in Oyo State, Adewale Kolapo Kareem, has urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) to adopt a transparent and credible process in selecting its candidate for the next gubernatorial election.
Speaking with a correspondent of Adamimogo FM, Kareem said the integrity of the selection process would play a crucial role in determining the party’s success at the polls.
He warned against any attempt to impose a candidate, noting that such actions could create divisions within the party and weaken its electoral chances.
The aspirant called on party leaders to ensure a level playing field for all contenders, allowing delegates and members to freely decide who emerges as the party’s flag bearer.
According to him, a credible and open process would not only promote unity within the APC but also strengthen public trust in the party’s democratic credentials ahead of the election.
