The Oyo State Government has disbursed another N200 million in compensation to property owners affected by the Circular Road project in Ibadan, raising total payments to N600 million.
The latest tranche, the fourth so far, was handed out on Thursday at the office of the Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Williams Akin-Funmilayo.
Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade, said the government remains committed to fulfilling its promise of paying the full N1 billion earmarked for compensation.
“With this exercise, we are gradually approaching the N1bn mark. Today, beneficiaries will receive between N3m and N5m each, with payments to be credited immediately,” Oyelade stated.
