Bayelsa State Governor Douye Diri has resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), announcing that his decision was backed by 23 members of the House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Abraham Ngobere.
Diri, in an announcement at the state house, explained that his decision was for an obvious reason, but did not state the reason or the political party to which he will be moving.
Meanwhile, former member of the senate representing Bayelsa east senatorial district, senator Ben Murray-Bruce has also officially announced his defection to the APC today.
In a statement, Bruce expressed his belief that under Bola Tinubu’s leadership, characterized by both courage and intellect, Nigeria will witness phenomenal growth.
Just this year Enugu state governor, Peter Mbah, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State, and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, moved to the ruling party with all their officials and appointees.
