The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Debo Ologunagba, has warned President Bola Tinubu against what he described as defection shopping.
Speaking during a televised interview today, Ologunagba reacting to the defection of Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah from the PDP to the APC, submitted that such a political move will not secure the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, victory in the 2027 general elections.
According to him, the ruling party’s fixation on luring opposition figures was a distraction from its poor performance and failure to address Nigeria’s economic and governance challenges.
Meanwhile, PDP State Chairmen Forum led by Tony Aziegbemi have accused the APC of intimidating their governors, senators, and members of the National and State Assemblies into defecting.
The forum claimed the APC has been engaging in undemocratic, desperate, and systematic actions aimed at intimidating, harassing, and coercing PDP leaders, including governors, senators, and members of the National and State Assemblies.
