A plane carrying US Defence Secretary, Pete Hegseth made an emergency landing in Britain on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in its windshield.
Hegseth was returning to the United States from a NATO defence ministers’ meeting in Brussels when the aircraft diverted to an undisclosed airport in the United Kingdom.
Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said the landing was carried out in line with standard safety procedures and confirmed that everyone onboard, including Hegseth, was safe.
In a post on social media, Hegseth wrote, “All good. Thank God. Continue mission!”
During the NATO meeting, the US Defence Secretary had urged member states to increase military support for Ukraine in its ongoing war with Russia.
