Founder of Grace and Mercy Prayer Ministry Worldwide, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo, has said politics should not be left in the hands of those who do not have the interest of the people and the country at heart.
Olu-Alo stated this on the sidelines of the finale of the month-long programme, Sure Mercies of David, held at Adamimogo Jesus City in Lagos.
The cleric said unfaithful religious leaders, compromised security agencies and politicians were behind most of Nigeria’s challenges. He noted that politics cuts across all areas of life, including the church.
According to him, Christians and Muslims with integrity should not shy away from political participation. He urged them to help transform the system from what many describe as a “dirty game” into one centred on accountability and good governance.
He also called on churches and other religious organisations to encourage their members to register to vote and participate actively in elections, warning Nigerians against making electoral choices based on sentiments.
Declares Global Fasting on September 9
Referencing Isaiah 55:1-3 and Acts 13:33-34, Olu-Alo said divine mercy transcends religion and has the power to restore kingdoms, expand opportunities, renew hope and bring favour.
He explained that drawing closer to God, living righteously and making a positive impact in society are key to attracting mercy.
The cleric declared September 9, 2025, as a special global day of fasting, instructing participants to pray for mercy, favour and divine blessings.
