President Bola Tinubu will depart Abuja on Monday for a state visit to Turkey aimed at deepening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in several key sectors.

According to a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Bayo Onanuga, the visit seeks to strengthen the existing cordial ties between Nigeria and Turkey, with a focus on enhancing collaboration in security, education, social development, innovation, and aviation.

During the visit, high-level discussions are expected to center on finance, communications, trade, and investment. Both nations are also set to sign multiple memoranda of understanding covering areas such as scientific research, energy, technical cooperation, media and communications, military cooperation, and protocol agreements.

“Additionally, a business forum will bring together investors from both countries to explore new opportunities,” Onanuga noted.

The visit reciprocates Turkish President Recep Erdoğan’s state visit to Nigeria in October 2021 and shows the ongoing efforts to foster stronger diplomatic and economic partnerships between the two nations.
