The Nigerian Senate has called on President Bola Tinubu to immediately remove Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), from his position as Registrar General of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
The resolution was passed on Thursday in Abuja by the Senate Committee on Finance, following what lawmakers described as a persistent pattern of disregard for legislative oversight.
The committee accused Magaji of repeatedly failing to honour invitations to appear before them and account for the financial activities of his agency.
Speaking during the session, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Sani Musa, expressed frustration over the Registrar General’s absence despite multiple invitations.
“He refused on so many occasions to honour our invitation to appear before this committee. We have issues with the reconciliation of the revenue of CAC. Each time we invite him, he gives us excuses,” Musa stated.
