Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan have officially appointed Nurudeen Aweroro as the new head coach of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side.
The announcement was made during an unveiling ceremony held on Friday in Ibadan, with the club expressing confidence in Aweroro’s ability to steer the Oluyole Warriors to new heights.
In a statement shared via its official social media handles, 3SC wrote:
“OFFICIAL: Nurudeen Aweroro is the new Head Coach of Shooting Stars SC. A CAF Licensed tactician with experience from Remo Stars, MFM FC & Ikorodu City, Coach Aweroro is set to lead the Oluyole Warriors to glory. Welcome to Ibadan, Coach!”
Aweroro replaces veteran coach Gbenga Ogunbote, whose departure was confirmed earlier this week. His arrival comes as part of a wider restructuring plan under the club’s new management, aimed at repositioning Shooting Stars as a dominant force in Nigerian football.
A CAF-certified tactician, Aweroro brings a wealth of experience from his stints with Remo Stars, MFM FC, and more recently, Ikorodu City FC. He notably turned around Ikorodu City’s fortunes during the 2023 Nigeria National League (NNL) season, lifting the club from a mid-season slump to an impressive fourth-place finish in their debut campaign.
Aweroro is expected to inject fresh tactical ideas and a winning mentality as Shooting Stars prepare for the upcoming NPFL season.
