Hundreds of residents of Ido-Osi Local Government Area in Ekiti State benefited from a free medical outreach organized by the Sam Olu Foundation (SOAF) today, as part of its commitment to supporting underserved communities.
Now in its fifth edition, the outreach aims to provide medical care to the less privileged and those unable to afford routine health services.
The Medical Mission Lead, Dr. Olufemi Fawoya, stated that the initiative focuses on early detection and treatment of illnesses, improving health awareness, and reducing preventable complications within the community.
This year’s outreach placed a strong emphasis on eye care, with over 360 participants receiving free eye examinations, treatment, and prescription glasses, in addition to other essential medications. Dr. Fawoya highlighted that the program reflects the humanitarian vision of Prophet Sam Olu Alo, founder of the foundation, who is passionate about impacting lives through health interventions.
Dr. Mary Okodua, an attending consultant, expressed satisfaction with the community’s turnout and engagement. She noted that such health initiatives play a vital role in improving overall community health and well-being.
Beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to Prophet Sam Olu Alo, offering prayers for the continued growth and divine support of his ministry and philanthropic efforts.
The medical mission also included screenings for breast cancer, general health check-ups, and other diagnostic services. The outreach is scheduled to continue tomorrow, extending its reach to more residents in need.
