The Sam Olu Alo Foundation (SOAF), the humanitarian arm of Grace and Mercy Prayer Mountain, has provided support to over 1,000 widows in Ido-Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State with clothing materials, food items, and cash gifts to cushion the effect of the current economic hardship.
The event, an annual outreach by the founder, Prophet Sam Olu Alo, also featured scholarship awards to secondary school students across the local government.
Prophet Alo, who is also the founder of Adamimogo Communications Limited, urged well-meaning Nigerians to embrace the culture of giving, noting that true community development begins when individuals take responsibility for uplifting others.
Speaking on national issues during the outreach, the cleric endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s directive to withdraw police orderlies from Very Important Persons (VIPs), stating that the move would make government officials more accountable and sensitive to the security needs of ordinary citizens.
He also called on Nigerians to reduce their over-reliance on the federal government and instead hold state governors more accountable, especially in light of increased federal allocations to states.
On the rising insecurity in the country, Prophet Alo condemned the idea of negotiating with bandits, emphasizing that while repentance and surrender should be welcomed, the government must remain resolute in its fight against criminality and violence.
The outreach reflects the foundation’s commitment to social welfare and community support amid growing economic challenges across Nigeria.
