Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, has said the federal government will soon reveal the identities of individuals and networks financing terrorism in Nigeria.
Speaking during an iinterview recently Bwala said the administration is taking “far-reaching decisions” to strengthen national security, and that the effects of these measures will become evident shortly.
According to him, terrorism remains a global threat, and Nigeria requires strong international collaboration to tackle its expanding footprint across the Sahel region.
“Since the wake of 9/11, terrorism became a global issue,” he said. “Any part where there is terrorism, it is the concern of the rest of the world. That is why it is in the interest of the world for Nigeria to be supported for us to end it.”
He noted that terror groups, once concentrated in the Middle East, have been shifting toward the Sahel to establish what he described as “a hub of terrorism.” This, he said, has intensified the need for coordinated action between Nigeria and global partners.
Bwala assured that the government’s ongoing efforts would soon expose both the perpetrators and sponsors of terrorism within the country.
“The government is making far-reaching decisions, and in the coming days we will know who the terrorists and their financiers are,” he said.
