President Bola Tinubu has approved the posting of 65 new ambassadors to various countries around the world, covering both non-career and career diplomatic appointments.

Among the non-career appointees are prominent figures such as Mahmud Yakubu to Qatar, Femi Fani-Kayode to Germany, Senator Ita Enang to South Africa, Reno Omokri to Mexico, and former Minister Lt. Gen. Abdulrahman Dambazau to Beijing, China.

In a statement, the presidency said the approval follows careful consideration of both professional experience and strategic diplomatic interests, ensuring representation across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Americas, and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has already received agrément from the United Kingdom for the High Commissioner-designate, Ambassador Aminu Dalhatu. Similarly, France has sent the agrément for Ambassador Ayo Oke.

The Ministry has also conveyed the nominations of the other 62 designated envoys to all the countries concerned, including a request for their agréments in line with standard diplomatic practice.
