The Federal Government has declared war on terrorists seeking to displace Nigerians or occupy any part of the nation’s territory, following renewed insurgent attacks in parts of Borno State.
Vice President Kashim Shettima made the declaration today while reacting to the recent abductions in Ngoshe community and coordinated assaults on military formations in Konduga, Marte, Jakana and Mainok.
During an interfaith breaking of fast with Service Chiefs, president Bola Tinubu ordered a swift mobilisation of Nigeria’s security architecture to confront the attackers and restore stability in the affected areas.
He describes the attack by the terrorists as a heartless assault on hapless citizens, urging Nigerians in Borno and elsewhere not to succumb to fear.
Shettima however assured Nigerians that the administration would not be intimidated by what he described as cowardly attempts by insurgents to undermine the nation’s peace and security.
