President Bola Tinubu has officially endorsed the 2025 edition of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA), scheduled to take place in Lagos from November 25 to 30, with the theme “Unstoppable Africa.”
The backing follows a formal request from the African Union Commission seeking Nigeria’s collaboration in hosting the prestigious continental music event. In response, Tinubu expressed full support for the event and pledged Nigeria’s commitment to its successful delivery.
According to a statement issued on Saturday, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, on Wednesday inaugurated an inter-ministerial Local Organising Committee (LOC). The committee is tasked with working alongside the host city, the African Union, and the AFRIMA International Committee to coordinate logistics and ensure a landmark celebration of African music and talent.
With Nigeria hosting the 2025 edition, Lagos is expected to welcome thousands of artists, music executives, and fans from across Africa and the diaspora.
