President Bola Tinubu today hosted President Idriss Déby of Chad at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
After the closed-door session, president Tinubu assured his Chadian counterpart of genuine partnership and cooperation in fostering regional development.
According to the president, the security of both nations can only be guaranteed through cooperation and strategic alignment.

The meeting took place shortly before Tinubu’s planned trip to Jos to commiserate with victims of recent attacks in Plateau.
Nigeria and Chad, key stakeholders in the Lake Chad Basin, have continued to collaborate in addressing shared security challenges.
Both countries are actively involved in tackling insurgency and cross-border threats affecting the region.
Déby’s visit underscores the enduring relationship between both countries and their mutual interest in deepening strategic cooperation.
The visit is also seen as part of broader efforts to reinforce multilateral cooperation within the Lake Chad Basin.
