The Presidency has announced that payments for outstanding 2024 capital projects have officially commenced, alongside the settlement of indebtedness inherited from previous administrations. The Special Adviser to the on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare said the president directed that all pending 2024 capital projects receive immediate payment, while also emphasizing the full implementation of the capital components in both the 2024 and 2025 budgets.
The government has set a target to complete these projects on or before March 31, 2026.
In addition, all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies are required to submit or upload their cash plans for the 2025 capital budget by close of business on Monday, February 23, 2026.
Payment processing will begin immediately after the submissions.
The Presidency reaffirmed its commitment to timely execution of capital projects, fiscal discipline, and addressing outstanding obligations, highlighting the administration’s dedication to advancing national development.
