Members of the national union of food, beverage and tobacco employees have accused the director general of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, Mojisola Adeyeye of flagrant disregard for the presidency.
The association in a protest against the ban on sale of alcoholic beverages in sachets, today claimed that the federal government has moved to suspend the ban but NAFDAC has refused to honour the directive of the government.
Speaking during the protest, a member of the trade union congress, comrade Michael Anthony insisted that the agency must reopen locked factories and release banned products without further delay.
Anthony further stated that the protest will continue tomorrow except NAFDAC complies with the purported directive of the secretary general of the federal, Senator George Akume.
Director-General of NAFDAC Mojisola Adeyeye, had in a statement described the reports as false and misleading, stressing that it had received no directive from the federal government to suspend its regulatory activities.
