Peter Obi Warns Against INEC, APC Election Rigging. The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has warned against electoral malpractice ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that Nigerians’ votes must count.
Obi issued the warning on Thursday while speaking at a town hall meeting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where he cautioned against attempts to manipulate the electoral process.
“Our votes this time must count, and whoever doesn’t count them, we will count the person,” Obi said.
The former Anambra State governor also stressed the importance of Nigerians knowing the background and credentials of those seeking to lead the country.
According to him, political leadership should not be outsourced, urging politicians and political actors to engage directly with Nigerians and respond to their concerns.
“Today, people sit in their houses to outsource campaigns to other people. We have heard enough of this nonsense. All these threats will come to an end.
“We want to speak with you, we want to answer your questions. Leadership cannot be outsourced,” he said.
Obi further challenged Nigerians at home and abroad, as well as people around the world, to openly present any allegations against him.
“I’m challenging any Nigerian, both at home and abroad, or anyone around the world: if you have anything against me, say it out now.
“When I took somebody to court, I only did that because he said he had something he would say against me that the whole world would be shocked,” Obi said.

His comments come as political parties and major contenders begin preparations for the 2027 general elections, with electoral credibility and the integrity of the voting process expected to remain major issues ahead of the polls.
