The management of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, has appointed Professor Victor Olusegun Oyetayo as the new Dean, College of Applied and Natural Sciences (COLNAS). The appointment takes effect from October 2025, reflecting the University’s commitment to strengthening leadership and advancing research in the sciences.
Professor Oyetayo joined McPherson University from the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), where he served as a Professor in the Department of Microbiology. His appointment underscores his wealth of experience, academic leadership, and distinguished contributions to teaching and research.
A renowned scholar, Professor Oyetayo holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology and has made notable contributions in Biotechnology, Probiotics, and Food Microbiology, particularly in the study of indigenous microbial strains and their health benefits.
He has also mentored numerous undergraduate and postgraduate students and served in various academic and administrative capacities, demonstrating strong leadership and commitment to institutional development.
As Dean, Professor Oyetayo is expected to enhance the College’s research profile, promote innovation, and ensure that students acquire skills relevant to global scientific and technological advancements.
