Lagos state traffic management authority (LASTMA) special night gang patrol team has apprehended a truck driver after he tragically crushed his motor boy to death at Ogolonto inward Ikorodu roundabout.
According to preliminary findings, the deceased motor boy had gotten out of the moving truck to help the driver stabilize the vehicle where he slipped and fell beneath the rear tires, resulting in his death.
Reacting to the incident, the General Manager of LASTMA, Bakare-Oki, hammered on the importance of regular vehicle maintenance, particularly braking systems, to prevent such tragedies.
LASTMA personnel has evacuated the truck to prevent further accidents and the truck driver was handed over to the police for further investigation, while the remains of the deceased was taken to the General Hospital, Ikorodu
