Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, will on Monday, November 24, 2025, present the 2026 Appropriation Bill to the State House of Assembly, marking the seventh budget proposal he has submitted since assuming office in 2019.
Ahead of the presentation, the state government concluded a series of Stakeholders’ Consultative and Engagement Meetings across the seven geopolitical zones, where residents, traditional rulers, youth groups, civil society organisations and community leaders outlined their expectations for the 2026 fiscal year.
The government also wrapped up its Treasury Board Sessions earlier in the week, with the Executive Council and officials from Ministries, Departments and Agencies reviewing and finalising budget estimates.
The forthcoming budget is expected to reflect the administration’s priorities for 2026, with a continued emphasis on inclusive governance, infrastructure expansion, human capital development, and deepening the economic reforms initiated over the past six years.
Governor Makinde will formally lay the Appropriation Bill before lawmakers at the Assembly complex in Ibadan, where debates and subsequent legislative scrutiny will follow in the weeks ahead.
