The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Oyo State has announced the resumption of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise, which began on Monday, January 5, 2026.
In a media release issued on Tuesday, the state’s Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Prof. Adeniran Rahmon Tella, stated that the Phase II registration, covering both online pre-registration and in-person enrolment is now open across all 33 INEC Local Government Area offices and the State Office in Ibadan.
The exercise will run until April 17, 2026, in line with the commission’s approved timeline.
To improve accessibility, INEC has approved a 50-day rotation of INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED) machines across 351 Registration Areas in the state. This move is intended to address challenges faced during Phase I, including long distances to registration centres and difficult terrain in some communities.
Prof. Tella urged all eligible Nigerians who have just turned 18 or have never registered to take advantage of the ongoing exercise. He also called on those who have not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to visit their local INEC offices for collection.
The CVR is also open to individuals with damaged or lost PVCs, as well as those seeking to transfer their polling units within the same ward, local government, or state.
