Political alignments for the 2027 presidential election appear to be taking shape, with emerging reports indicating a potential joint ticket between former presidential candidates Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso under the banner of the African Democratic Congress.
This alliance, sources claim, is being facilitated and endorsed by former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
According to findings, discussions for the alliance have advanced to a stage where a committee has been jointly established by the camps of Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, and Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, to actualize the joint ticket.
A principal official within the ADC disclosed that the alliance was originally proposed by former President Obasanjo. It is reported that Obasanjo not only blessed Obi’s recent move to the ADC but also directed him to collaborate with Kwankwaso, with the aim of securing the party’s presidential and vice-presidential nominations.
