The Presidency has reassured the public that President Bola Tinubu is in good health and is continuing his state visit to Turkey as scheduled, following a brief stumble during a ceremonial reception in Ankara on Tuesday.
In an update shared on his verified X handle, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Public Communication, Sunday Dare, confirmed that President Tinubu moved from the welcome ceremony to planned bilateral meetings with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and other senior officials.
“President Tinubu, after a stately welcome ceremony in Ankara, proceeded to scheduled bilateral meetings with the President of Türkiye and other senior government officials,” Dare stated.
Earlier, Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga attributed the momentary stumble to the President stepping on a metal object on the floor and emphasized that the incident was minor.
The meetings are part of efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and expand cooperation in key sectors, including defence and security, trade and investment, energy, and broader economic development.
