The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo has commended FAAN’s hybrid payment approach, noting that it has helped improve vehicular movement at airport access gates.
Keyamo said this during an inspection of the access gates at two major international airports to assess traffic flow following the introduction of a hybrid payment collection system by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
Yesterday, the minister noted that the hybrid system will effectively address all bottlenecks that led to the suspension of the initiative when it was first launched.
The minister also discussed the possibility of introducing a dedicated detour lane for cash payments to minimise traffic disruptions, as well as the long-term plan to deploy fully automated access gates.
The initiative, according to FAAN, is aimed at promoting seamless payment options, reducing congestion and improving the overall travel experience for airport users.
