An Abuja-based military veteran and security expert, Luqman Gidado, has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Security and Strategic Studies by Nasarawa State University Keffi.
The degree was conferred during the institution’s convocation ceremony held on April 11, 2026.
In a statement, his wife, Maryam Gidado, described the achievement as a reflection of years of discipline, academic dedication and commitment to excellence.
Gidado, a retired captain of the Nigerian Army, served for over a decade before transitioning into consultancy and security analysis. Since leaving active service, he has remained engaged in areas such as risk management, strategic planning and institutional development.
He holds multiple academic qualifications, including a Master’s degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy, a Master of Science in Political Science and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field, alongside professional certifications in security and leadership.
Known for his contributions to public discourse on national security, Gidado has featured across broadcast platforms and publications, offering insights on policy and strategic issues.
He is also a member of the International Institute of Professional Security and has received several honours during his military career, including the General Operations Medal, Golden Jubilee Medal and Centenary Medal.
