A chieftain of the people’s democratic party, Bode George says the chief of staff to the president, Femi Gbajabiamila should apologise for comments he made on the internal crisis of the African democratic congress.
Gbajabiamila had during a ceremony hosted by factional ADC chieftain Leke Abejide, encouraged the lawmaker to remain in the ADC and mount pressure on the other factions of the party.
Reacting to the statement, Bode George described such comment as a monumental political mistake that should not be allowed to slide or swept aside, insisting that the former lawmaker must apologise.
The ADC has been grappling with internal disputes among its factions, with the David Mark faction maintaining its stance as the recognised umbrella of the party despite a pending court judgement on the matter.
Last week, the David Mark led ADC suspended Leke Abejide and others from the party over alleged anti-party activities.
Meanwhile, the Nafiu Bala Gombe-led faction on Tuesday disowned a viral video alleging that its national convention in Abuja ended in embarrassment.
The faction dismissed a video depicting the purported empty venue as fabricated, describing it as part of a coordinated propaganda effort by political opponents.
The Chief of Staff to the National Chairman, Bala Kumo, clarified that the Gombe-led leadership had neither announced nor sanctioned any elective convention.
The development comes amid an ongoing legal battle over the party’s leadership, which has deepened factional divides ahead of the 2027 electoral cycle.
Gbajabiamila Utterly Wrong With ‘Scatter Them’ Comment, Should Apologise Publicly – Bode George
While Femi Gbajabiamila is my brother and I cannot denounce him, I think he made a monumental political mistake with that comment and should apologise to Nigerians publicly.
