The Supreme Court of Nigeria has reserved judgment in appeals and cross-appeals arising from earlier rulings of the Court of Appeal Nigeria and the Federal High Court, Abuja Division.

The appeals stem from judgments delivered by Justices Omotosho and Lifu of the Federal High Court, which were upheld by the Court of Appeal.

The appellate court had nullified the party’s convention held in Ibadan and affirmed the suspension of A.K. Ajibade, SAN, along with other former party officers, including Samuel Anyanwu.

Dissatisfied with the rulings, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) approached the Supreme Court, arguing that both the trial court and the Court of Appeal lacked jurisdiction, as the matter concerned the internal affairs of the party.

Meanwhile, the respondents, including Anyanwu, filed a cross-appeal seeking to overturn aspects of the judgment, particularly those affirming their suspension.

After hearing arguments from all parties, the apex court reserved judgment to a later date to be communicated to counsel.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, the PDP urged its members to remain steadfast, expressing confidence that the court’s eventual ruling would uphold multi-party democracy.
