The Gunners have remained unbeaten in the Champions and now they are in the final!
Arsenal booked their place in the UEFA Champions League final after a narrow 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid in the semi-final second leg on Tuesday night, sealing a 2-1 aggregate triumph.
A first-half tap-in from Bukayo Saka proved decisive at the Emirates Stadium, as the Gunners delivered a composed performance to edge past their Spanish opponents.
While the display may not have been their most dazzling, Arsenal’s campaign in Europe has been marked by consistency and control, with the team remaining unbeaten throughout the competition. Victories over top sides, including Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and Sporting CP, have underlined their credentials as serious contenders.
Midfielder Declan Rice said the team was fully aware of the magnitude of the occasion.
“I don’t think you can underestimate what we have done in this competition up to this point,” he said. “When we went 1-0 up, I knew we were going to win. I could feel something special building.”
The result comes amid a strong domestic push, with Arsenal also in contention for the Premier League title following Manchester City’s draw at Everton a day earlier.
Manager Mikel Arteta praised both his players and supporters after what he described as a historic night for the club.
“We made history again together. I cannot be happier or prouder,” Arteta said, highlighting the electric atmosphere created by fans who welcomed the team bus with flares and chants ahead of kickoff.
