The Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Olufemi Akanbi Okeowo, has announced the commencement of another phase of the Renewed Hope Palliatives and Okemoney Support Programme, set to begin on Tuesday, 12th May 2026.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Abdulsalam Iyanda, Okeowo said the initiative, introduced under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu, aims to provide economic relief, food assistance, and empowerment opportunities for residents of Ifelodun LCDA.
Speaking on the programme, Mayor Okeowo stated that the intervention reflects his administration’s unwavering commitment to people-centered governance and continuous efforts to ease the economic challenges facing residents.
As part of the programme, petty traders selected from different wards within the LCDA will benefit from the Okemoney Business Support Scheme, receiving financial assistance to support and grow their businesses.
Beneficiaries captured under the OkeYouth initiative will also begin receiving monthly support aimed at promoting productivity, self-reliance, and economic empowerment among young people.
In the same vein, elderly residents enrolled under the OkeAged scheme will receive welfare support specifically designed to improve the wellbeing of senior citizens and provide relief for vulnerable aged members of the community.
Additionally, the council administration will distribute over 2,500 food palliative packages to beneficiaries across the LCDA to help improve food security and alleviate hardship among residents.
Mayor Okeowo further disclosed that beneficiaries under the Okemoney, OkeYouth, and OkeAged programmes will begin receiving their financial support from Tuesday, while the distribution of food items will take place simultaneously at designated centres across the council area.
He reaffirmed that the Renewed Hope Palliatives and Support Programme demonstrates the administration’s dedication to prioritizing the welfare, empowerment, and socio-economic development of the people of Ifelodun LCDA.
