Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the appointment of Kayode Oyekanmi as the new General Manager of Lagos State Television (LTV).
The appointment follows the disengagement of the former General Manager of the station, Sola Kosoko.
Head of Service, Bode Agoro, said the appointment was in recognition of Oyekanmi’s dedication, diligence and commitment to public service over the years.
He also expressed confidence in the new appointee’s ability to reposition Lagos Television and wished him a successful tenure.
Before his appointment, Oyekanmi served as Director of the Strategy Centre at the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, a position he held since 2022.
A seasoned communications professional, Oyekanmi has over 30 years of experience across the public and private sectors, with expertise in advertising, public relations and export services.
He began his public service career on March 1, 2000, as a Public Affairs Practitioner with the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy.
An indigene of Isale Eko in Lagos Island, Oyekanmi has received several awards in recognition of his contributions to journalism and public communication.
He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Lagos and a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and Education from Lagos State University.
He is also a member of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations.
In addition to his professional engagements, Oyekanmi currently serves as the Charter President of the Lagos State Ministry of Information Toastmasters Club and is known for his passion for reading and lawn tennis.
