Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde is expected to declare open the 59th National Board Meeting of the Bible Society of Nigeria on May 20, 2026, with a special divine service scheduled to hold at the First Baptist Church, Oke Elerin, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
The development was disclosed in a statement issued by the society’s Media Manager, Benjamin Mordi, who noted that the national board meeting itself would hold in Ogbomoso on Thursday.
According to the statement, the President and Board Chairman of the society, Bishop Banwo, will preside over the meeting.
Mordi explained that discussions at the gathering would focus on the organisation’s previous and future activities in line with its mandate of Bible translation, publication and distribution.
He added that the organisation’s financial records for the past year would also come under review, while the General Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, is expected to present the annual report.
The statement further revealed that the event would attract notable personalities, including BSN Patron and former Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, alongside national officers, members of the board of trustees, delegates from different parts of the country and senior management staff.
The Bible Society of Nigeria is an interdenominational Christian organisation focused on translating the Bible into indigenous Nigerian languages and ensuring the publication and distribution of scriptures across communities.
