The Saudi Arabia Supreme Court has officially declared Monday, May 18, as the first day of Dhul Hijjah 1447 AH. Following the sighting of the crescent moon
Consequently, Arafat Day which is the pinnacle of the annual Hajj pilgrimage will fall on Tuesday, May 26, while the Eid-al-Adha celebrations will begin the following day, Wednesday, May 27.
According to a statement by the court, the Crescent Sighting Department of the Supreme Court “reached the decision after reviewing testimonies submitted by witnesses regarding the sighting of the Dhul Hijjah crescent.”
The court extended prayers for King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, commending their dedication to serving pilgrims.
The court also prayed for the safety, comfort, and success of all Hajj participants, as well as the continued peace and prosperity of Saudi Arabia
