The Federal Government has declared Wednesday, May 27, and Thursday, May 28, 2026, as public holidays to mark the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
The announcement was made on Monday in a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior through the Permanent Secretary, Magdalene Ajani, on behalf of the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo.
According to the statement, the declaration reflects the Federal Government’s recognition of the spiritual significance of Eid-ul-Adha and its importance to Muslim faithful in Nigeria and across the world.
