The Lagos State Police Command has arrested six suspects following the emergence of a viral video showing suspected miscreants allegedly harassing motorists on a road in Lagos.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, confirmed the arrests in a post on her X handle on Thursday. She said the police had already been monitoring the activities of individuals involved in such acts and had taken proactive measures before the video surfaced online.
The viral footage showed suspected miscreants allegedly attempting to damage the side mirror of a moving vehicle, raising concerns among motorists and other members of the public.
Adebisi said six suspects were subsequently arrested along the same road in connection with the incident, while investigations were ongoing to establish the full circumstances and identify other possible suspects.
The police spokesperson added that additional officers had been strategically deployed to the area to strengthen surveillance, protect motorists and prevent further criminal activities.
She commended members of the public for bringing the incident to the attention of the police and urged residents to continue providing credible and timely information to support security operations across the state.
Adebisi reaffirmed the Lagos State Police Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, assuring residents that the command would continue to take action against miscreants and other criminal elements operating across Lagos.
