Popular Nigerian Fuji musician, Remi Aluko, has revealed that he is currently living with severe vision loss as a result of glaucoma.
The veteran singer made the disclosure during a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, where he opened up about his long-running battle with the eye condition.
According to Aluko, he has been managing glaucoma for several years and has previously undergone eye surgery in an effort to preserve his sight.
Providing an update on his condition, the Fuji star said his vision has deteriorated significantly, adding that there is now little difference between his situation and that of a blind person.
“I’m a glaucoma patient. I’m managing myself; I’m currently not seeing. Despite being a glaucoma patient, many people don’t know. There’s no difference between me and a blind person now, but no one knows because I don’t let my condition weigh me down,” he said.
Despite the challenges posed by his condition, Aluko said he remains determined to live independently and maintain a positive outlook on life.
“Thank God that I know how to take care of myself like someone who can see. I decided not to dwell on my condition because I don’t want to be depressed,” he added.
The revelation has sparked concern among fans and well-wishers, many of whom have taken to social media to express support and prayers for the veteran musician.
