Lagos state government has commenced a comprehensive clearance operation at 1004 Housing Estate as part of ongoing efforts to improve environmental sanitation, restore order, and enforce compliance with environmental regulations.
The exercise, involves the removal of obstructions, environmental nuisances, and activities considered to be hindering the free movement of pedestrians and vehicles within the estate.
During the operation, enforcement officials reportedly discovered and seized illicit drugs, cash, and other dangerous items from various locations within the estate.
The commissioner for enviroemnt and water resources, Tokunbo Wahab said the exercise is aimed at enhancing cleanliness, improving public safety, and preserving the aesthetic appeal of the area while creating a healthier environment for residents and visitors.
According to him, monitoring and enforcement activities will continue throughout the operation to ensure sustained compliance with environmental standards and prevent the recurrence of violations.
Wahab added that the initiative forms part of broader efforts to maintain order, improve environmental conditions, and promote safer public spaces across the area.
