The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has disowned a document circulating on social media that purports to contain the list of All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the 2027 House of Representatives elections in Lagos State.
In a statement, the Commission described the document as fake, misleading, and not originating from any of its official platforms or processes.
INEC said it had not authorised or published any such public notice and stressed that the signature on the document does not belong to the Secretary to the Commission, describing it as fraudulent.
For the avoidance of doubt, the Commission clarified that no official announcement regarding candidates for the 2027 general election has been issued.
It urged members of the public, political parties, stakeholders, and the media to disregard the circulating document in its entirety and rely only on verified information from INEC’s official communication channels.
The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to providing timely, accurate, and credible information on all electoral activities.
