Lagos State Deputy Governor, Obafemi Hamzat, has said that many politicians seeking to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election lack the vision required to deliver meaningful development and national transformation.
Hamzat made the remarks while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairmen’s Forum during their tour of major infrastructure projects across Lagos State.
Commenting on criticisms of President Tinubu by some presidential aspirants, the deputy governor argued that several of those seeking the nation’s highest office do not possess the foresight needed to provide effective leadership.
“Many who want to lead do not have vision. We are grateful to have leaders with foresight. Many people could not see what Asiwaju Tinubu envisioned
years ago,” Hamzat said.
He described President Tinubu as a leader who promotes inclusiveness and values innovative ideas, regardless of their source.
“Before the President, nobody is too small. Once your idea is better, it takes precedence, even above the President’s own.
He gives room for ideas to grow,” he added.
Hamzat explained that Tinubu’s decision to establish specialised agencies during his tenure as Lagos State governor was driven by his belief that dedicated institutions could deliver better results than conventional government ministries.
According to him, many of the landmark infrastructure projects transforming Lagos and other parts of the country today are the result of Tinubu’s long-term planning and strategic vision.
He listed projects such as the rail transport system, the Lekki Free Trade Zone, Eko Atlantic City, the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and the Badagry-Sokoto Highway as examples of initiatives inspired by Tinubu’s developmental agenda.
The deputy governor also said Tinubu’s ability to attract local and foreign investment is rooted in his clear developmental vision and consistent economic policies.
