Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has criticised Peter Obi over his claim that President Bola Tinubu failed to contact Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde following the abduction incident in Oriire Local Government Area.
Obi, during a recent interview, alleged that Governor Makinde told him President Tinubu did not call to commiserate with the state or inquire about the situation after the attack.
Responding to the claim, Wike dismissed the allegation, saying there was no basis for it and accusing Obi of making statements aimed at attracting public sympathy.
As Governor of Anambra State:
When there was EROSION in a village, Peter Obi said he called President Obasanjo.
When there was an ARMED ROBBERY, Peter Obi called President Yar’Adua.
So, what duties did he now perform as a Governor?
Meanwhile, he said President Tinubu did… pic.twitter.com/inTXTmwd3N

The FCT minister described Obi as a politician who frequently makes unsubstantiated claims for political gain, insisting that such allegations should be supported with credible evidence.
According to Wike, Obi has developed a pattern of making claims that are difficult to verify, adding that such comments do not contribute to constructive political discourse.
The Presidency has not publicly responded to Obi’s claim regarding the alleged conversation with Governor Makinde.
I don’t know how I will value any statement made by Peter Obi. Why? Because he has not shown that he is a man who is consistent. Everything for him is politics.
