The Lagos State Government has continued its enforcement operation along the Badagry Expressway, extending the exercise from the Volks–Iyana Iba axis to the FESTAC Gate corridor.
The operation, carried out by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) in collaboration with the Kick Against Indiscipline (KAI) Corps, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Lagos State Task Force, the Mobile Police (MOPOL), and military personnel, targeted illegal structures, shanties and encampments erected on the road median.
According to the state government, the exercise is part of its zero-tolerance policy against the illegal occupation of public spaces and is aimed at restoring order along one of Lagos’ busiest transport corridors.
Officials said the operation is also focused on preventing the reoccupation of cleared areas, protecting public infrastructure and improving safety for road users.
The enforcement exercise remains ongoing as the Lagos State Government reiterates its commitment to maintaining a cleaner, safer and more orderly environment across the state.
