The Elder Sitting Club of Lagos, led by its President, Engr. Jamiu Oladele Odofin, has congratulated the Executive Chairman of Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Olawale Saliu Jimoh, popularly known as Olugbani, on the occasion of his first anniversary in office.
The group described the chairman’s first year as one marked by visible community projects, educational support and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the council area.
In a congratulatory message, the club commended Olugbani for fulfilling key campaign promises through infrastructure development, youth and educational initiatives, and people-centred interventions.
According to the group, one of the chairman’s standout achievements is his decision to sponsor qualified and vulnerable students from Apapa-Iganmu LCDA to study at the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), a move it said would expand access to higher education for young people in the community.
The Elder Sitting Club also noted that within his first year in office, the administration has undertaken and commissioned several projects, including the construction of Akinola Street in Sari, the construction of Makanjuola Street, the rehabilitation of Amusu Street in Badia, the grading of Ireti Street, the provision of staff buses, youth skills acquisition programmes, the distribution of GCE forms and exercise books to students, as well as other community development initiatives.
The club said these projects have contributed to better road connectivity, improved access to public services and educational opportunities for residents.
Drawing from the congratulatory flier released by the association, the elders said they had observed progress across the council area during the chairman’s first year in office.
“Olugbani is doing great in Apapa-Iganmu LCDA. In one year, many of the promises made during the campaign have become visible across the council. We particularly commend the sponsorship of LASUED admission for our children and students from Apapa-Iganmu LCDA,” the statement said.
The association added that it was celebrating the chairman’s one year in office and wished him a successful tenure, urging him to continue delivering projects that would improve the lives of residents.
