The Lagos State Government has received Dazzle Football Club of Lagos following the team’s impressive performance at the prestigious Dana Cup in Denmark.
The team was received at the Lagos State Sports Commission office at the Teslim Balogun Stadium by the Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Hon. Mobolaji Ogunlende, alongside the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu.
Dazzle FC secured a Gold Medal in the U-12 category and a Silver Medal in the U-14 category at the international tournament. The team also recorded an individual honour, with Toheeb Ojerinde of the U-14 squad emerging as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament.
While congratulating the players and technical crew, Fatodu commended the team for its outstanding performance and for bringing honour to Lagos State and Nigeria on the international stage. He noted that their achievement demonstrated the impact young talents can make when given the right opportunities and support.
Fatodu said the success of the young players had created a significant ripple that could inspire other children and youths to pursue their dreams in sports. He stressed the importance of recognising and rewarding outstanding performances as part of efforts to encourage more young people to excel.
He further reaffirmed the Lagos State Sports Commission’s commitment to identifying and nurturing sporting talents, empowering young athletes and creating opportunities for them to compete and succeed at national and international levels.
