The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has commenced a waste evacuation and advocacy exercise across parts of Idi-Oro and Odi-Olowo in Mushin, Lagos State.
The exercise, which began on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, is aimed at clearing accumulated waste while engaging residents, traders and other stakeholders on the need to maintain proper waste disposal practices.
Areas covered include Folami Street, Makinde Street, Labinjo Street, Labinjo Lane, Labinjo Court, Odesanya Street, Adeyemi Street, Soremekun Street, Abeokuta Street, Kilani Street, Onifade Street, Matuwo Street, Bankole Street, Owokonira Street, Kobiti Street, Ojo Street, Alhaji Lasisi Street, Igbarere Street, Amodu Street, Aileru Street and Olorunibe Street.
LAWMA urged residents, traders and other stakeholders within the affected communities to cooperate with its team during the exercise. The authority also encouraged them to support efforts to sustain the cleanliness of the environment after the evacuation.
The agency said the combined waste evacuation and advocacy exercise forms part of efforts to promote cleaner communities and encourage residents to adopt responsible waste management practices.
