The Campaign Council of Governor Ademola Adeleke has called on security agencies to investigate and stop what it describes as alleged voter intimidation by Senator Francis Fadahunsi of Osun East Senatorial District.
In a statement issued in Osogbo on Saturday, the council’s spokesman, Pelumi Olajengbesi, alleged that Senator Fadahunsi was seen and heard at Polling Unit One of NUD Primary School in Ilase-Ijesa, instructing All Progressives Congress supporters to monitor how voters cast their ballots in the ongoing Osun State governorship election.
The council further alleged that the senator directed his supporters to take action against voters who did not support the APC.
Olajengbesi described the alleged conduct as unacceptable and undemocratic, and called on security agencies to intervene immediately to protect voters and ensure a free and fair election.
He also accused the senator of repeating conduct that had previously attracted criticism, saying the latest incident raised concerns about the safety and freedom of voters at polling units.
