The Lagos State Government has announced the temporary closure of Oke-Afa Bridge in the Isolo area of the state for rehabilitation works.

The closure will last for three weeks, from Friday, August 28, to September 18, 2026, with the rehabilitation carried out in two phases.

The first phase will run from August 28 to September 11 and will affect the outbound carriageway from Isolo towards Ejigbo.

According to the state Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, motorists travelling from Isolo towards Ejigbo will be diverted onto the Isolo-bound carriageway from Pako Roundabout.

Traffic will move in both directions along the diverted section before rejoining the main carriageway at Mobil Filling Station.

Motorists travelling from Ejigbo will maintain free movement and share the carriageway with Ejigbo-bound traffic from Mobil Filling Station to Pako Roundabout, after which they will regain full access to the road.

The second phase is scheduled for September 12 to September 18 and will affect motorists travelling from Ejigbo towards Isolo.

During this phase, traffic will be diverted onto the Ejigbo-bound carriageway from Mobil Filling Station, with vehicles moving in both directions before rejoining the main carriageway at Pako Roundabout.

Osiyemi said the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) would be deployed to the affected area throughout the rehabilitation period.

The agency will coordinate vehicular movement and help minimise congestion as motorists navigate the temporary diversions.

The state government urged motorists to cooperate with traffic officials and follow the designated diversion routes while the rehabilitation work is ongoing.
