An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday ordered the remand of a 34-year-old driver, Segun Falola, at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre over the alleged abduction and defilement of a 14-year-old girl.
Falola was brought before the court on charges bordering on alleged abduction and defilement.
However, the Chief Magistrate, C.M. Kushanu, did not take his plea.
Instead, Kushanu ordered that the defendant be remanded at the correctional facility pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
The court adjourned the matter until September 30 for further proceedings.
The prosecutor, Adegoke Ademigbuji, told the court that the alleged offences occurred between April 3 and April 24 in the Alakuko area of Lagos State.
The allegations have not been proven in court, and the defendant is presumed innocent until found guilty by a court of law.
