The Oyo State House of Assembly has approved a N210 billion supplementary appropriation for the 2026 fiscal year, raising the state’s total approved budget from N892.09 billion to N1.102 trillion.
The Assembly passed the Oyo State Supplementary Finance Bill, 2026, during plenary on Thursday following the presentation and adoption of the report of its Committee on Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning.
Presenting the committee’s report, its Chairman, Sunkanmi Babalola, said the bill was considered clause by clause, with inputs from the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning and projections contained in the Oyo State Government’s Medium Term Expenditure Framework taken into consideration.
With the approval, the total amount under the 2026 Finance Law increased from N892,085,074,480.79 to N1,102,085,074,480.79.
The committee recommended that the additional N210 billion be drawn from the Consolidated Revenue Fund of Oyo State for the year ending December 31, 2026, with the sources of funding contained in the schedule to the bill.
Speaking with journalists after plenary, Babalola said the supplementary appropriation demonstrated the Assembly’s commitment to sustainable development and critical infrastructure across the state.
He disclosed that a significant portion of the supplementary funds would be devoted to infrastructure, including ongoing projects under the Ministry of Works.
According to him, the budget also makes provision for the state’s investment in the ongoing upgrade of the Ladoke Akintola International Airport.
Babalola said the supplementary budget was designed to support the administration’s plan to complete ongoing projects before the end of Governor Seyi Makinde’s tenure.

He added that the Assembly scrutinised the details of the supplementary budget before approving it.
The passage brings Oyo State’s total approved financial provision for 2026 to more than N1.1 trillion.
